Route
Why not take I-294 North along 2?? -- I'm pretty sure that I-294 is a toll road, and historically we've somehow not had much trouble with Rush Hour traffic. -- Jay
- I-94 West all the way through Chicago
- I-90 West
- Exit just before I-90 becomes a toll road
What
Do we eat?
In previous years we brought a large cooler full of simple foods. I vote we continue that trend. Think bottles of water & juice, solid fruits, bread w/ PB&J, rice cooker & rice, canned tuna, instant noodles. If we bring a hotpot mechanism (like a Rice Cooker) we can boil water, and prepare {rice, soup, eggs, noodles, pasta sauce}. People have been cooking all kinds of awesome stuff in rice cookers.
Actual food checklist refactored to Anime Central Chicago Food.
Custom Badges
Badges are finalized and printed, at 300 DPI on white matte photo paper.
- Squirrel - meatshield for the cute
- Birdie - i'm the bird not the girl
- Hatrack - she likes my hat
- Does Chad need one? It sounds like it. He could wear the orange one though?
Registration
Preregistration was $35 before February 26th, 2006.
Hotel
- Hyatt is sold out for the May5-7 weekend, we'll not be staying On Site. This means more walking and drastically lower overall cost.
- Motel6 is under investigation by Sony's crack squad of scary mercenaries. They report having reserved a room for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, or something on the order of $180 for the whole stay. Parking at the Motel 6 will certainly be free for one car and was for two last time (2003?) we stayed there. We'll walk to ACEN, so parking there won't be an issue.
$180 total / 3 people = nice bearable $60. --AlanJCastonguay 14:41, 6 February 2006 (EST)
Financial Summary
- Gas cost for Michiganites: (from last year) $35 / 2 = $17.50
- Hotel cost: $180 for a double room, 3 nights / 3 = $60 each
- Con badge: $35
- estimated total per person: $112.50 (excluding food)
